Reasons Why Your Light Bulbs Are Burning Out So Fast
It can be frustrating when you switch the lights on in your Manchester home and then all of a sudden either one of all of the light bulbs burn out, leaving you with very little, or no light at all. If you find that this is happening often and that you are constantly having to change your light bulbs, this can soon become expensive, especially when you have to call out an emergency electrician so that you can safely move around your house without walking into a wall or tripping over a chair due to lack of lighting.
Some of the most common causes of light bulbs burning out faster than what they should be (incandescent bulbs have a light span of up to 2,000 hours) include the following things:
Faulty Light Bulbs
Most of the time, the issue of the light bulbs in your home burning out so fast is simply down to the fact that they have all come from the same faulty batch. Where this has been identified as the case, you may be better off by replacing all of them with new ones, in the hope that they are not also faulty and will last much longer.
High Voltage
Even after replacing your bulbs with new ones, you are still experiencing issues with the light bulbs in your Altrincham, Didsbury, or Sale home, it may be the case that the voltage is too high. One way of determining if this is the issue is by hiring an emergency electrician to perform a voltage test on your property.
Blown Fuse
There may be a blown fuse or a faulty circuit breaker somewhere within your home that is responsible for causing a short in the circuit. The way to resolve this is by identifying exactly where the issue is and then replacing the faulty or defective part, and then resetting the fuse or the breaker.
